2 – SEND A QUOTE

When you do get asked to send a quote, whether by an agent or a client, not only should you do it immediately, but you should do it professionally.

You should take the time to make up a professional looking form letter or quotation document that you can modify when needed.

It should have your price, plus maybe a more expensive and a less expensive option as well, but it should also SELL you. It should include a paragraph extolling the virtues of your show – reasons they should book YOU instead of any other magician.

It should have at least one great action photo and maybe a link to a video or two so they can see exactly what they’ll be getting for their money.

A quote like this is especially important when sending to an agent because they will often be pitching multiple magicians to their client and you need to stand out. Being inherently either busy or lazy, agents don’t have time to go through their files and cut and paste info about you to send to the client. Plus, what they have may be out of date. So, if you send them a ready-to-go quote/promo pack… chances are they’ll use it.
