#8 – YOU’RE A STAR
Long before ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ was a show called ‘You’re A Star’. You wouldn’t know it from looking at the clip, but it was so far ahead of other talent shows of the time with a bigger budget, more elaborate sets and state of the art production values.
In 1980, Tim competed performing close up magic in a red velvet suit and ruffled shirt. Just take a look at what everyone else was wearing and you’ll realise that he was the “cool kid”. The Copperfield hair didn’t go unnoticed either.
Did he win? Almost. He was beaten in that heat by Austen Tayshus with ‘Australiana‘.
