Last weekend Tim Ellis performed his KATZKIN character as a guest spot in the show ‘The Shoppe of Curiosities” in Fitzroy.
Tim’s “creature of the nightclub” crept through the audience and began by swallowing five razorblades and bringing them back from his throat – threaded.
This was followed by a very cautious volunteer participating in a very intimate card trick, and another ended up being handcuffed to a chair as Katzkin slowly sliced through his finger with a knife then pulled the previously swallowed handcuff key straight through the front of his throat.
This dark but delightful set ended with Katzkin’s version of the Linking Rings, The whole piece performed to an eclectic selection of Steampunk music without ever speaking a word.
